The Romance of the Three Kingdoms wraps up filming

Filming for The Romance of the Three Kingdoms has just wrapped up one year of shooting. The director Gao Xixi is now focused on the post-production phase in time for its debut during the Spring Festival next year.
The ensemble cast features Chen Jianbin (Cao Cao), Yu Hewei (Liu Bei), Ni Dahong (Sima Yi) and Lu Yi (Zhuge Liang).
Other actors from the mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong including Chen Hao (Diao Chan), Lin Xinru (Sun Shangxiang), and Huang Weide (Zhou Yu) are also expected to have a breakout performance.
During the one year of making the film, the 1,000-member crew traveled to more than 10 provinces. More than 80 10-meter long trucks were used to transport 50,000 props, 6,000 weapons, 30,000 costumes and 2,000 accessories.
Every day thousands of extras participated in filming. Some 70 battle scenes were shot, many more than other similar movies.
It is reported that just the props and sets cost about 30 million yuan, enough to fund several TV series.
