Expert tips on non-verbal vocab
Fan Wenzhen, director of the Integrated Management Division at a Shanghai based company, offers some advice on how to radiate confidence during your next interview:
Stand straight and natural, with your hands behind your back. In China, this indicates you are well mannered and have a positive attitude.
Sit with your back straight with your knees close together. Place your hands together on your knees, but make sure your feet are at a comfortable distance apart.
While speaking, besides making eye contact, don't be afraid to gesticulate in order to illustrate your point.
Most importantly, experience is the best cure for nervousness. Before a formal interview, try conducting a simulated one with a friend to help get a feel for the waters and the kinds of questions you're sure to encounter.
