A musical journey to India and Sri Lanka

Perfect Harmony – A Musical Journey was held in the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing Saturday night, jointly presented by the embassies of India and Sri Lanka.

Nirupama Rao, Ambassador of India to China (2nd L), Feng Zuoku, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) (4th, L), and Karunatilaka Amunugama, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to China (6th, L) at the inauguration of the Exhibition of Heritage sites.
The event is consisted of a photo exhibition of heritage sites in India and Sri Lanka and a concert performed by the Shillong Chamber Choir of India and Soul Sounds of Sri Lanka. It is the first time the two embassies were cooperating in this cultural exchange event, according to Nirupama Rao, Ambassador of India to China.
The concert was divided into three sessions: gospels, folk and traditional music, and popular and Bollywood music. Indian and Sri Lankan performers dressed in traditional saris took turns singing on stage. The concert is successfully concluded with their version of the traditional Chinese song, The Jasmine Flower.

Rao, Karunatilaka Amunugama, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to China, and Feng Zuoku, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) addressed the inauguration of the Exhibition of Heritage sites and attended the concert.
