Gaolu Ancient Town is located 12 kilometers east of Guoyang County. It is recorded that Caocao, the last chancellor and de facto ruler of the Eastern Han Dynasty (25AD-220AD) prepared for battle against the Wu Kingdom at the time which has since become well-known. Now it is famous for its liquor brewery industry.
