Trends: Website for professional tour guides launched

A website developed by the National Tourism Administration for professional tour guides (www.tourguide.net.cn) was launched on November 1 to provide an online platform for exchange between tour guides and help improve management and service of tourism administrations.

The website consists of six channels including the latest news in the tourism industry; an area for tour guides to promote themselves and exchange their experiences, knowledge and skills; online discussions on hot topics in the tourism industry; an area for tourism administrations to provide management and service; information about tour guide certificate examinations and tour guide rank examinations as well as training and self-teaching; and a ranking of tour guides selected by and appraised by tourists. There is also an area to receive complaints of tour guides from tourists as well as punishment of tour guides by tour agencies and tourism administrations.
